Esmertec Buys CoreTek Systems Mobile

DUEBENDORF, Zurich-Embedded software company Esmertec, which sells Java virtual machine technology to mobile-phone makers, announced it will purchase the mobile division of Chinese technology company CoreTek Systems. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Esmertec said the move would boost its presence in the region and increase sales. The company previously set up a customer support center in both Taiwan and Korea and took a majority stake in its Japanese technology partner eValley.

CoreTek develops and markets a series of mobile software and tools, such as its J2ME test suites, DeltaMMS MMS development and management software, DeltaBrowser – a dual WAP and Web browser.
