Mobile Gaming Sales to hit $1.9 billion in the U.S. by 2009

December 8th, 2004

The research firm InStat/MDR expects mobile gaming sales to hit $1.9 billion in the U.S. by 2009, up from $204 million this year. It says mobile video services will generate $5.4 billion in revenue in ’09, up from $53 million in 2004.

This may have been old news, but worth mentioning here since there are so many predictions on mobile gaming sales flying around. It would be interesting to check this numbers again in 2009. Four years is not a long time.

It also tells us, if they are correct, mobile gaming is a smaller market than mobile video which I guess includes streaming TV etc.
