FlashFXP FTP Client

March 10th, 2005

This post is not mobile related. But given that I use ftp client a lot to upload to and download from my website(s). I felt that FlashFXP
is a FTP client I would definitely recommend for any serious website owners. There are free ftp clients out there you can download. One such free ftp client is called FileZilla. It is decent quality product but I had to reconnect a couple of times, got a lot of critical errors when I used it. In one instance, including time to restart connection and reset errors, it took me over an hour to upload 8MB worth of files over a 1.5 mbps broadband connection.

With FlashFXP, it is totally easy to setup and use. Once you configured your ftp sites in the Site Manager, connecting to your ftp server is just a snap. To transfer files, you just select all your directory and files from local window and drag them to the queueing window. Once the file transfer is kicked off, FlashFXP can automatically reconnect and resume a transfer from where it left off if the connection is lost or no data is received for a specified period of time. It also can roll back on resumed file transfer to prevent corruption. Fully recursive file transferring (uploading, downloading, site to site) is supported. You can also directly edit file attibutes from within FlashFXP, a big plus for webmasters that manage Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP sites.

Read FlashFXP’s detailed list of features or buy FlashFXP for $25 now.

Hope this helps.
