CDMA
Stands for Code Division Multiple Access digital wireless technology.

EDGE
Stands for Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution, a technology spans the so-called 2.5G and 3G.

EV-DO

GSM
Stands for Global System for Mobile Communications – A digital cellular phone technology based on TDMA that is the predominant system in Asia and Europe, but is also used by AT&T Wireless and Cingular in the United States.

HSDPA
Stands for High Speed Downlink Packet Access – An enhancement to the WCDMA 3G technology that increases the downlink speed by applying different modulation and coding techniques as well as multiple antennas.

MVNO
Stands for mobile virtual network operator, which offers a branded wireless service using wireless networks from a “real operator”. ESPN, Disney for instance, operates their own branded MVNO.

W-CDMA
Stands for Wideband CDMA – A 3G technology that increases data transmission rates in GSM systems by using the CDMA air interface instead of TDMA.
