Visto.com Push Email to Mobile

February 21st, 2005

Visto.com seems to be making major progress in bringing about a serious blackberry competitor in the push email/PIM to mobile phone market. During 3GSM conference, Visto.com annouced that they will make “automatic updates of e-mail, contacts and calendar” available on more than 50 smart mobile terminals in the next six months. Considering the fact they have working relationship with some ten mobile operators, Visto Mobile could become a serious competitor to RIM but still has a long way to go.

Btw, Visto claims to have over 200,000 subscribers to operator branded service and support a broad range of devices:

Visto Mobile Personal Edition is available on most popular devices and platforms, including Symbian OS (UIQ and Series 60 Platform), Microsoft Windows Mobile for Smartphone and Pocket PC Phone Edition, Palm OS, J2ME, IMAP, and SyncML-based handsets and most browser enabled devices.
